Environmentally Friendly Breweries
Updated: Aug 29, 2019
It's Friday and I feel for most it is a time to relax and kick back. As such many of us enjoy a good beer on the weekends. This morning I was reading an article in Pebble Magazine about this vegan brewery - Freedom Brewery in Staffordshire, England. What makes this brewery unique is the use of water from their well which allows them to use fresh ground water in their brewing; after brewing they purify the water using terraces and reed beds and return the water to the earth. Quite amazing compared to other breweries and mass manufactured beers. I encourage you to read the full article in Pebble Magazine, quite a good read.
In the US I was curious to see what breweries have environmentally friendly practices. I was excited to find quite a few options; I have listed a few of my favorites below.
1. New Belgium Brewery, Fort Collins Colorado
2. Sierra Nevada, Chico, CA
3. Alaskan Brewing Co, Juneau, AK
4. Stone Brewing, Escondido, CA
5. Lagunitas Brewing Company, Petaluma, CA
Enjoy and as always recycle!
